What are your walk-In office hours?
Office hours are as follows:

Monday - Thursday 9 am - 2 pm

*Appointments outside of these hours may be scheduled with the Finance Officer if arranged in advance.

Are building permits needed?
Yes, building permits are required for new construction in Emery.  Building permit forms can be found under forms on this website or from the Finance Officer.  The cost for a building permit is $10.00 and they must be obtained and approved by the Emery City Council before construction may begin. Building permits will not be approved on the same day as the application is received. Please plan accordingly.

When is the garbage picked up?
Garbage is picked up every Thursday unless there is a holiday. The City will provide a green garbage can after you complete the application for utility services and pay the $75.00 deposit. PLEASE REMEMBER ALL GARBAGE MUST FIT INSIDE YOUR GREEN CAN. If you have more garbage than allowed please call the office to make arrangements to have it picked up at an additional charge.

When does the City of Emery declare a snow emergency?
The City of Emery will declare a snow emergency when there is over two (2) inches of snow. All vehicles must be off the streets so that the city maintenance crew can get all the snow off the streets in a timely manner.

How do I access the City of Emery Rubble Site?
The Rubble Site is for citizens of Emery and is open from early spring until late fall depending on the weather. City residents may bring out grass clippings, tree branches and white goods. The Rubble Site is open Wednesdays from 3 pm - dusk and Saturdays from 9 am - 5 pm. The Rubble Site is located 1 mile north of Emery on 7th Street.

What do I need to do to have water, sewer, and garbage services turned on or changed to my name?
You may print a utility application from this website or obtain a utility application from the Finance Officer. Your completed application, copy of your driver's license or one form of identification is required. In addition, a $75.00 deposit is required in order to start services. Once received, we will establish a time to have services turned on.

Can I pay my utility bill online or with a credit card?
Yes! Please see the City Utility Billing page for more information and a link to pay via paypal or with a credit card. Note there is a convenience fee charged for all online payments.

How do I submit a complaint to the city?
You may fill out a public comment form and return it to the city via email, mail or place in the city drop box. The Emery City Council reviews all public comment forms during city council meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month.
